How this is calculated
Annual labour cost is hours per week × people × loaded hourly cost × 52 weeks. Error cost is the monthly count × the cost of each × 12. The total is what the manual version of this process costs you in a year, before counting the slower turnaround, the management overhead, and the work nobody gets to because this is eating the week.
It's deliberately conservative: it only counts what you can already see on the books. If the number is meaningful, automating the process is usually worth a serious look. If it isn't, it isn't, and an honest answer is the point.
